Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)

I took this photo of an Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) in Yellowstone National Park, USA. We spotted this Osprey perched on the top of a tree by a river and we waited, hopeful that the bird would try to catch a fish. Luckily the bird did just that, right in front of us, then proceeding to fly past us with it’s catch!

I like this photo in particular as it gives an impression of the impressive wingspan of the bird.
